Some people’s comfort food can be porridge or a bowl of piping hot curry maggi noodles but for me, pizza is my go-to when im down and out. Pizza Express is making the world a little happier by going back to basics with their new truffle menu items.
With its distinct aroma and garlicky taste, truffles have been used in a wide variety of dishes and there is no doubt that the addition of truffles makes the food taste better for many if not all. Here are some items you can expect:
Pizza Express Truffle Series
At PizzaExpress, the most important dish is of course the pizza. The star of their new series is their 14” Romana Truffle Pizza with Trio of Mushrooms ($32), layered with bechamel, truffle paste, white truffle oil, mozzarella and a trio of mushrooms before being showered with shaved black truffles and grated parmesan.
Pizza lovers should know that their pizzas are made with the traditional hand-toss method along with the freshest ingredients so you can be assured of the quality whenever you dine with them.
For those who prefer pastas to pizzas, get the Truffle & Mushrooms Farfelle in Truffle Cream Sauce ($26) that comes with bow tie pasta in creamy truffle mushroom sauce. As a side or starter, their golden shoestring Truffle Fries ($9) comes with grated cheese on top and a generous amount of truffle oil.
Pizza Express Classics
For those who prefer the old school Italian classics, the Linguine Gamberoni al Aglio Olio ($22) showcases the simplicity of oil-based pasta made with garlic, chilli flakes and fresh parsley, topped with plump, juicy, and bouncy prawns.
