Food makes me happy. Whether I am angry or sad, just bring me food and I will be okay. Plus point if you bring me my favourite food. I am a huge fan of Italian cuisine. Most of us might be familiar with some dishes such as Spaghetti Carbonara, Potato Gnocchi, Margherita pizza and more.

These are just some of the common dishes in the Italian cuisine. There are so many more dishes that I am so willing to try. Thankfully, there are several halal Italian restaurants here in Singapore. Here is a list of some of the halal authentic Italian restaurants in Singapore.

Kucina Italian Restaurant

Founded in 2016 by an Italian-Muslim revert Chef Gero @ Omar, the restaurant serves authentic Italian food. Chef Gero wanted to introduce Italian cuisine to the Muslim community in Singapore. Kucina Italian Restaurant is all about retaining the original method of preparing Italian food, while keeping the ingredients halal for our Muslim friends to indulge in Italian food.

The restaurant offers a wide range of dishes from appetisers to desserts. I have always wanted to have a taste at authentic Italian Ravioli. But what is ravioli? At Kucina, their Ravioli Di Spinaci ($22.90) is made with fresh pasta that is stuffed with a ricotta and spinach filling, topped with a flavourful tomato basil sauce.

Apart from their ravioli dish, I would also love to try their Risotto Di Mare ($28.90) which is made with Arborio rice cooked in light tomato sauce with mixed seafood and shellfish, topped with salsa verde. Have yet to try authentic Italian food? Kucina Italian Restaurant is the place to go!

Kucina Italian Restaurant: 11 Tanjong Katong Road, #B1-09/10, KINEX Mall, Singapore 437157

Operating Hours: 11.30am – 10.00pm daily | Delivery

Positano Risto

Positano Risto was born out of love of Italian cuisine by its Muslim owners. The restaurant officially opened its doors to the public in 2017, giving our Muslim friends an opportunity to indulge in delicious Italian food.

Similar to Kucina Italian Restaurant, Positano Risto also offers a wide range of dishes such as starters, pizzas, pastas and more. One dish that caught my eye was their Fettucine Carbonara ($17.95) and their Truffle Mushroom Risotto ($18.95). You can also order other mains such as their Chicken Parmigiana ($20.95) and Grilled Striploin Steak ($29.95).

Pizza lovers can opt for their Supreme Calzone ($29.95) or stick with the classic Pepperoni Pizza ($18.95). Pair your meals with beverages such as mocktails or their shakes and floats like The Godfather ($13.95). Then, end your meal with a plate of dessert like the Positano Signature Oreo Chocolate Lava Stack ($14.95).

Positano Risto: 66 Bussorah Street, Singapore 199479 | Delivery

Operating Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 11.30am – 10.00pm | Friday and Saturday: 11.30am – 11.00pm

Tipo Pasta Bar

Tipo Pasta Bar was actually one of the first authentic Italian restaurants I have been to, and I have to say their pasta dishes are magnificent. The restaurant allows you to create your very own pasta based on their menu. I made my pasta with lemon and herb malfade cooked in creamy pesto sauce, topped with crispy beef bacon bits.

The pastas used were made in-house so that diners will get to enjoy the freshest pasta dishes. Apart from making your own pasta dish, you can also order their house specials such as their Royal Ragu ($15.90) and their Prawn Aglio ($15.90).

Pair your meal with their beverages such as their Watermelon Soda ($6.90) or their Golden Kiwi & Mint Soda ($6.90). I had their Apple Rose Soda ($6.90) which was very refreshing, especially after a hearty pasta dish.

Want to enjoy pasta without having to travel all the way to the venue? Tipo Pasta Bar offers both delivery and pick-up services so that you can enjoy their dishes at home!

Tipo Pasta Bar: 785 North Bridge Road, Singapore 198753

Operating Hours: 11.00am – 10.00pm daily | Delivery
