From 2025, a new Disney cruise ship will debut in Singapore, as part of a five-year collaboration between the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Disney Cruise Line.
At a news conference at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Mr Iswaran mentioned that Disney’s decision to have its first ship in South-east Asia in Singapore “speaks volumes of our region’s significant potential for cruise tourism”, suggesting that it will improve Singapore’s tourism industry by providing a sizeable boost to the country’s GDP.
The ship is expected to call at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, which is one of Asia’s largest cruise terminals.
What to expect on the cruise
The 6,000-capacity cruise will come staffed by Disney characters with cabin designs inspired by Disney, Marvel, and more!
There are a myriad of activities to do on the cruise such as Broadway-styled performances, fireworks and even a tea party with the princesses. In addition, there will be many Disney-themed pools and waterparks with crazy rides to scream your hearts out at.
There will also be both casual and fine dining options. Moreover, there is a gym to burn off those calories and countless shops so you can stock up on more cute Disney goodies.
For a magical time, the ship will put on a Fireworks Display on certain themed-nights and deck parties. One such display would be “Buccaneer Blast!” – a firework spectacular choreographed to a dramatic score featuring songs from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.
