Siam Square Mookata is a popular hangout for Bukit Batok residents because of its fresh ingredients and low costs in comparison ($2-$3 per plate). If the atmosphere isn’t as important to you as the food, just head here for dinner but go early as it is always crowded.
Siam Square Mookata has locations all around the island, including Golden Mile Tower, Boon Lay, Pasir Ris, and more, but do remember to bring a change of clothes if you have a meeting afterwards because you are sure to leave smelling like garlic pork.

Bukit Batok Town Park
Since this park’s major features resembles that of Guilin in China, the town park is affectionately known as Little Guilin. Most people come to this little natural park on Singapore’s west side to see the magnificent granite formation in the lake. You may appreciate the scenery by walking around the lake’s shores or sitting in one of the dome-shaped shelters that overlooks the lake that is sure to win the heart of your next Tinder date.

Former Ford Factory
This was the first car assembly factory in Southeast Asia, which was then designated as a national monument in 2006. Did you know this is also the location where British forces surrendered Singapore to the Japanese army in 1942? Former Ford Factory truly is a remarkable landmark.
Now, it is currently a museum that portrays how locals in Singapore and Malaya lived under the Japanese occupation through photographic displays and video documentaries. Come here if you want to get spooked and listen to heart wrenching stories of the past.

Hualong Fishhead Steamboat
The zi char store is known for its fish head steamboat thus the name Hualong Fishhead Steamboat. You can get the famed dish in two flavours: original and tomato-flavoured broth ($28.80 / $38.80 / $48.80 depending on size).
Before being put into the broth, the fish is either fried or grilled over charcoal, which adds another layer of flavour to an already hearty soup. To pair with the steamboat, you may choose traditional zi char side dishes like stir-fried Sambal Kang Kong and even Chilli Crab, Yum!

Winifred Kriste Cake, based in Bukit Batok, offers classes in handcrafting elaborate sugar flowers (from $85) to spice up the boring old cake.
