As someone from the 2000s generation, it’s hitting me that we’re all growing up and becoming adults. But amidst the hustle, it’s nice to take a breather and think back on the memories from our childhood during that time, reminiscing about the carefree moments we had.
Do you remember blasting those 2000s jams like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift? Hits like “Heart Attack” by Demi Lovato, “Best Night Ever” by One Direction, “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes, and “Black Magic” by Little Mix were the soundtrack to our teenage years. Till this day, these songs still flood us with memories.
And then there were the cartoons like Ben 10, Winx Club, and Doraemon that were absolute must-watches on TV. And those movies, like Barbie, Toy Story, and Finding Nemo, they’re timeless classics that we’d still rewatch today just to relive those nostalgic days.
Of course, there were also those memories from school, like when teachers would confiscate our fidget spinners, slime, and Rubik’s cubes. It’s funny how something so simple could bring so much joy, even if it often ended with them being taken away by the teachers!
And who could forget the ritual of heading to 7-Eleven for a slurpee or playing catching after school? It was like a rite of passage for us, scraping together our pocket money for that icy treat and just chilling with our friends. It was all about those little moments with our friends, enjoying each other’s company and creating memories, although some of these friends might not be in our lives anymore.
As much as we cherish those memories, it’s also a reminder that those carefree times are something we can’t go back to. It can feel a bit sad when we think about it, but at least we’ll always have those memories to look back on and smile.
