There are plenty of halal restaurants in Singapore, but have you ever wondered where some of the greatest locations to go for a full-on gourmet excursion are at? Here’s our comprehensive list of the best halal restaurants in the country, ranging from Korean cuisine to traditional Malay fare.
Don N Bap
Don N Bap is known for its low-cost Korean rice bowls and Korean Fried Chicken. Their version of KFC (not that fast food chain you are thinking) is available in two flavours: Fiery and Ninniku (think honey, garlic and soy). Get their rice bowls, which cost roughly $6.80, to make your dinner extra satisfying. Beef Bibimbap and Korean BBQ Chicken Bap are among the flavours offered. If you like noodles, you’ll be pleased to learn that they also serve Army Stew Ramyun, which consist of the usual suspects of chicken luncheon and kimchi broth.

Koh NangKam
Image Credits: The fabulous ratWe’ve all had those days when we desire Thai food out of nowhere, and where better to go than Koh NangKam? Traditional Thai cuisine such as pad thai, hot tom yum soup, and more can be found here, with the same authentic, rich flavours you’d find in Thailand. Green curry and pandan chicken are my personal favourites and a meal isn’t complete without ordering them every time you dine here (sadly no dining in now)! Grab a tall glass of Thai milk tea to wash it all down in case you can’t take the heat. Despite being a tad on the sweet side, the sugar might help to alleviate the heat of spicy food.

Hjh Maimunah
Image Credits: HalalmakDid u know that Hjh is pronounced as ‘Hajah’? Even before midday, the line at this nasi padang eatery extends out the door. However, we can’t blame the crowd since early birds are the only one who gets the worm. As each item is limited in quantity, popular items like the tauhu telor sells out quickly. Aside from traditional Malay dishes, there are also others that are more uncommon, such as lemak siput sedut (sea snails swirling in a coconut-rich stock). Whenever you are here, be sure to request dollop of sambal with your rice for the ultimate experience. Due to popular demand, Hjh Maimunah has decided to re-open Tingkat orders for the month of June!
