Best Cities To Visit Or Live In Around The World

To keep it fresh we have not included Singapore in this list

What is the world’s finest city? It’s not a simple topic to answer. Some city dwellers expect world-class eateries and unique experiences at every turn. Others value affordability, convenient public transportation, or pleasant neighbours. No matter the case, here is a list of some of the best cities around the world.

Auckland, New Zealand

While the city is frequently misunderstood as little more than a transit stop on the way to Queensland, a flurry of new urban renewal initiatives is paving the way to a bright future for itself.  Previously neglected portions of the city’s waterfront are being turned into vibrant neighbourhoods with green spaces and well-known retail destinations.

Even before all of these developments, Auckland had a reputation for being a popular destination for expats and nearly 40% of its population was born outside of the country. Aside from being close to great areas to walk, sail, and surf, the city boasts a diversified food scene to match its multicultural population.

Adelaide, Australia

Adelaide is known for its world-class vineyards and natural wines, but it turns out that the southern coastal city is also a fantastic location to call home. The Economist Intelligence Unit gave it a perfect score of 100 (the best possible) in both education and healthcare (based on availability and quality), and it did really well in all other areas too. The city’s gorgeous beaches, world-class restaurants, and aforementioned wine scene, we’re sure, contribute to its position as one of the places to live for the rest of your lives.

Osaka, Japan

The country’s third-largest city, after Tokyo and Yokohama, is sometimes overshadowed by the nation’s capital, but there are several reasons why it has grown into a destination in its own right. For starters, Osaka is one of Japan’s greatest culinary towns, with takoyaki (battered, fried octopus balls) and okonomiyaki among the must-try regional specialties (grilled savoury pancakes with a variety of additions). The city also appeals to the mases because of its baseball culture, neon-lit districts, and the stunning Osaka Castle.

Zurich, Switzerland

The largest city in Switzerland and the country’s economic centre. Zurich has a reputation for being hyper-efficient and ruthless, so it may appear one-dimensional at first look. True, you’ll find immaculate streets and trains that usually arrive on schedule, but the city is full of surprises. Citizens may be found swimming in the Limmat River, playing volleyball in the parks, and riding their bikes to get a scoop of gelato in the summer. Zurich is also a hotspot for young creatives, so you’ll find plenty of art galleries and great restaurants on both sides of the river.

Geneva, Switzerland

Yes, Switzerland grabs two positions on the list. Despite being one of the world’s most costly cities, Geneva demonstrates its livability with flawless healthcare (it is, after all, the home of the Red Cross) and excellent stability and infrastructure based on research. There’s no doubting the city’s natural beauty, which includes panoramic vistas of the Alps and Jura Mountains, as well as Lake Geneva. We can see why people want to come here with such a beautiful daily commute.

With how the Pandemic has affected our way of life and not to mention, the way we travel, we hope that this list has revived your dying will to explore the world and make plans for the future.
