A Step Further: Iman Fandi’s Debut Single ‘Timeframe’

National football player’s daughter and 20-year-old model, Iman Fandi took a step into the music industry and has released her debut single, ‘Timeframe’. The song dropped on February 19^th, 2021. It is now available on music streaming applications such as Spotify and Apple Music. Also, check out the official music video which is also available on YouTube.

Featured on covers of several fashion magazines such as NYLON, this stunning model, is now moving into a different industry. She has modelled for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Adidas and Estee Lauder. Now, she is also active on TikTok with some of her videos going viral online.

Following Footsteps

Daughter of Singapore’s known footballer, Fandi Ahmad and South African model, Wendy Jacobs, Iman followed the footsteps of her parents. Apart from her contributions to the fashion industry, she has acted in the 2019 MediaCorp high school drama, ‘Emerald Hill’ and was also a former track-and-field athlete back in primary school.

A New Start

Starting her music career when the circuit breaker started, Iman worked on a collaborative track titled, ‘Stay Home’, with 13 other artists, namely Aisyah Aziz, Charlie Lim, Yung Raja and many more.

Iman explained that the interest sparked when she turned 19 and she decided to record a song in her very first studio. Since then, she “found the fun” in creating music and is working on growing her career.

Milestones

Today, Iman Fandi is signed with Universal Music Singapore and is on her journey to contribute to the local music industry. Her debut single was released on February 19^th, 2021, titled ‘Timeframe’. The track was written by Iman, as she describes her inspiration for the song.

She explained that she “had said her goodbye to a friend one night” and the morning after, “the melody came into her head”. She “wrote the song in the taxi and that was how ‘Timeframe’ came about.” In addition, she “write and release music so that people will know that they are not alone in feeling a certain way.”

‘Timeframe’ was a collaborative effort between Iman and multi-Grammy award winner, John Hanes who has worked hand-in-hand with the likes of The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and more. She explained that it was an enjoyable experience having to work with John Hanes and “loved what he did with the mixing of the song.”
