Having recently re-opened with a new look, Food Junction at Lot One contains 19 halal and non-halal food stalls with notable local brands such as Blanco Court Beef Noodles, King Grouper Fish Soup, BURGS and more!
Always looking to invigorate the dining experience, Food Junction has adopted a Mix & Match contactless ordering and payment system. With the entire menu available in a single view, diners can simply scan the QR code at their tables and order across multiple stalls in a single transaction and pay through their own mobile devices.
Let the food speak for itself as we start off with Fortunate Dim Sum’s Deep Fried BBQ Pork Bun ($1.80/pc each). The BBQ Pork Bun tastes different from the steamed BBQ Pork Bun in that it has a crispy surface and is encrusted with BBQ Pork mince for a rich texture. Steamed BBQ pork buns can be sticky, but you don’t have to worry about that with this one.
You can also enjoy the most fashionable and trendy dessert at Quench. Their Coco Cloud ($4.50) is a must order when you visit. Looking just like the hazy blue sky and fluttering clouds, the thick coconut cream is sweet and refreshing. With a series of blended signatures such as Coco Cloud, Kopi Slush and Sea Salt Chendol, you will be spoilt for choice.
The Burgs Classic Cheese Burger ($6.90) is probably a classic combination that is everyone is familiar with. When we tried it, the beef is tender, doesn’t dry out and instead is very juicy and moist with each bite.
For something spicier and filling for your tummy, Blanco Court Beef Noodles’ Mala Beef Noodles ($8.90) comes with a decent amount of beef slices, peanuts, beansprouts, and coriander. The restaurant is proud of its secret recipe, unique chili sauce and secret beef, which is very satisfying when paired with their hot beef soup.
Bibimbap is one of the most common dishes in Korean cuisine and Kjjong-9 Korean Cuisine does not disappoint. Their Hot Stone Bowl Bibimbap ($7.80) mixes seaweed, carrots, marinated chicken, runny eggs, and gochujang sauce. With a rich taste that is not too overpowering, the ingredients went well together and tasted great with a side of kimchi.
For authentic Indonesian food you should try Pagi Sore Nasi Padang’s Beef Rendang ($8.5). This dish comes with fragrant blue pea rice and stir-fried chili eggplant. The beef is very soft and tender and the special chili sauce gives the dish an extra oomph.
Monster Chili Mala serves up specialty food from China that is reminiscent of my home. If you can, order their Limbo Half Fish ($8.80) to share with a friend or two. While you are enjoying grilled fish, you can put all kinds of side dishes you like in the same way as eating hot pot, fish balls, Chinese cabbage, sausage, crab sticks for a filling meal that goes great with white rice.
If spices are not up your alley, Fire Western N Grill’s Grilled Fish with Fries ($8.30) is a simple western meal served with coleslaw, fries, baked beans and grilled fish. The fries were very crispy, and the grilled fish was served with a wedge of lemon for added flavour.
