If you love your food spicy, numbing, and seriously addictive, here’s a new spot to bookmark. So Do Fun (蜀都丰)—the Sichuan chain known for its boiled live fish—has opened a new outlet at The Centrepoint in Orchard, making this its third location in Singapore.

What makes it extra buzz-worthy? The brand is guided by Master Chef Peng Zi Yu, who’s widely known as the Sichuan cuisine teacher of international superstar Nicholas Tse. So yes, you can expect bold flavours, big heat, and that signature mala (numbing-spicy) kick.

The chain spans 100+ outlets across China, Singapore and Malaysia, and it’s built a loyal following for one main reason: they use live fish, imported fresh daily, then slice and cook it to order.

What’s new (and why you’ll want to go)

  • New Orchard location: Right in town at The Centrepoint (B1)—easy for lunch, dinner, or a post-shopping feast.

  • Live fish speciality: The restaurant is famous for its Boiled Live Fish in Spicy Broth—a bubbling pot of heat, fragrance, and flavour.

  • Choose your spice + broth: You can go Spicy Broth, Fiery Broth, or Sauerkraut Broth (great if you want tangy + appetising).

Must-order signature dishes

1) Boiled Live Fish in Spicy Broth (水煮鱼)

Small $29.80 | Big $49.80
This is the star. Silky fish slices are poached in a punchy broth packed with Sichuan peppercorns, chillies, and house spices. It’s bold, but still balanced. Pick your broth, then brace yourself (in the best way).

2) Chengdu Mapo Tofu (成都麻婆豆腐) — $11.80

Soft tofu cubes in a rich chilli-bean sauce with that classic mala tingle. It’s fragrant, fiery, and very more-ish.

3) Stir-Fried Snowflake Beef — $24.80

Thinly sliced beef, flash-cooked over high heat with aromatics and spice. Rich, smoky, and made for rice.

4) Signature Mouthwatering Chicken (口水鸡) — $13.80

Poached chicken served cold, drenched in a slow-burning chilli oil dressing with garlic, sesame, and peppercorn.

5) Grilled Prawns with Vermicelli and Minced Garlic — $18.80

Smoky prawns + slurpy vermicelli that soaks up all the seafood juices and garlicky goodness.

6) Sichuan Famous Crispy Pork — $11.80

Crunchy, crackly, and coated in spicy-savoury seasoning. Texture lovers, this one’s for you.

7) Tender Frog with Pickled Peppers — S $22.80 | L $32.80

Buttery frog meat tossed with tangy pickled peppers and spices. Punchy, bright, and very “Sichuan”.

More dishes to round out the table

If you’re going with friends, build a feast with a mix of spicy and non-spicy classics:

Spicy picks

  • Boneless Diced Chicken with Chili Peppers — $19.80

  • Mao Xue Wang (Spicy Beef Tripe & Black Soybean) — $18.80

  • Dry Pot Tender Frog — $19.80

  • Stir-Fried Pork Intestines — $18.80

Non-spicy options

  • Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs — $17.80

  • Shredded Pork in Fragrant Sauce — $14.80

  • Savoury Garlic-Infused Chicken Feet — $16.80

Sides, soups and desserts

Don’t skip the extras—this is where the meal feels complete.

  • House Special Fried Rice (with premium Wuchang rice) — $11.90

  • Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cake — $5.80

  • Hanghu Lotus Root & Pork Rib Soup — S $5.80 | L $19.80

  • Pickled Radish Stewed Duck Soup — S $5.80 | L $19.80

  • Coconut Matcha Shaved Ice — $7.80

  • Signature Mango Snow Ice — $8.80

Pro tips before you go

  • Go in a group. The fish pot is best shared, and you’ll want sides + at least 1–2 stir-fries.

  • Choose broth wisely:

    • Spicy Broth = classic, balanced heat

    • Fiery Broth = for serious spice lovers

    • Sauerkraut Broth = tangy, appetising, less “heavy”

  • Order strategy: 1 fish pot + 1 tofu/meat dish + 1 veg + fried rice = a happy table.

  • Bring something cooling: Shaved ice is your best friend after a mala-heavy meal.
