Marina Bay Sands is set to undergo a transformation into a dynamic and energetic sanctuary for the arts as ‘Where Art Takes Shape’ makes its return with its 2nd edition. Scheduled to breathe life into the integrated resort from 18-28 January 2024, the festival promises a captivating array of activities across the property, showcasing the diverse facets of art and underscoring Marina Bay Sands’ dedication to fostering artistic engagement and enriching public experiences in Singapore.
Crafted to complement and enhance the upcoming art season in Singapore, ‘Where Art Takes Shape’ offers exciting platforms that will inspire and captivate both art enthusiasts and the broader community.
Attendees can anticipate discovering outstanding contemporary art at the international art fair ART SG, exploring unique realms at ArtScience Museum, immersing in a culinary world where food becomes art, and more.
Simultaneously, ArtScience Cinema at Level 4 of ArtScience Museum will screen two new film programs inviting visitors on an adventure through captivating landscapes of speculative imagination.
ART SG FILM: EMBODIED PRESENCES, running from 18 to 21 January, features a selection of nineteen video and film works, while the film program Technotopias: A Cao Fei Multiverse from 19 to 28 January are just some of the film highlights that will be available.
Visitors during the festival can also explore exhibitions at ArtScience Museum such as ‘Mars: The Red Mirror’ and ‘New Eden: Science Fiction Mythologies Transformed.’ The VR Gallery will feature Samara by artist Hsin-Chien Huang, offering an award-winning VR experience as well.
In addition to the artistic offerings, Marina Bay Sands will showcase over 40 newly created, limited-time cocktails and mocktails, as well as bar bites across various restaurants, bridging the worlds of culinary delight and artistry.
Additionally, The Marina Bay area will feature large-scale art installations by renowned artists, and a self-guided art trail with an online map will guide visitors through the property’s public artworks and sustainability features.
Special nightly projections on the façade of Marina Bay Sands and ArtScience Museum will further illuminate the celebration of art during selected evenings.
