Placing in the top 10 pickled fish brands in China since 2016, YAO YAO Sauerkraut Fish serves up Suan Cai Yu (Sauerkraut Fish) and Peking Duck at their flagship outlet in VivoCity. The first in Singapore to offer a combination of two flavours in a bowl, enjoy a variety of delicious broths with their Super Combos that will provide more value to your meals.
Must-try dishes include their Signature YAO YAO Sauerkraut Fish (2 persons $48 / 3-4 persons $68 / 5-6 persons $88) featuring tender California White Seabass cooked with tangy sauerkraut and rich spices sourced from Sichuan.
Simmered for at least 8 hours, look forward to a sour and spicy broth that leaves your tongue tinglingly with each mouthful. Remember to also order a side of their XXL Crispy You Tiao ($5) that perfectly complements the sauerkraut fish broth!
If you want to try as many of their dishes in one sitting, don’t miss their Super Combinations (prices from $53), where you can mix and match options with their Signature YAO YAO Sauerkraut Fish.
Try their Typhoon Shelter Shrimp with Fries for a mixture of seafood or go on a soupy adventure with the Sichuan Poached Fish and Tomato Fish (great for people with low spice tolerance).
The last pairing sees the Signature YAO YAO Sauerkraut Fish complemented with the succulent Peking Duck that comes accompanied with traditional Peking Duck sauce and a housemade sesame-mustard sauce.
Interestingly, there is also a side of melons on top of the usual cucumbers and thinly cut scallions which adds a fruity and sweet flavour to the wrap, elevating the dish.
There is also a variety of cold dishes such as Sour and Spicy Organic White Fungus ($9), Chilled Lettuce with Sesame Sauce ($10), Sichuan Spicy Poached Chicken ($12), Sweet and Sour Pickles Radish ($7) that will whet your appetite.
For some hot appetisers, try the Sichuan Crispy Pork in Waffle and the Glutinous Rice Cake with Brown Sugar ($10) that has a sticky consistency and notes of caramel.
If you prefer a sweet ending, the Rainbow Cold Jelly ($8) sees a homemade oolong jelly garnished with raisins, red beans, hawthorn or opt for the homemade Chilled Layered Coconut Pudding ($9), which is made with 100% pure coconut water.
With a variety of delectable offerings, join the culinary adventure at YAO YAO’s first outlet in Singapore and experience the exquisite fusion of flavours that will leave you craving for more!
