Inspired by his love for hawker fare and bringing top-notch dining experiences to the masses, Chef Darwin found a comforting treat on his travels to Malaysia and decided to recreate the unforgettable experience he uncovered on his journey.
CHEF DARWIN
Chef Darwin Wong honed his culinary chops in the kitchens of top establishments, including at JAAN Swissôtel The Stamford, where he worked alongside 3- Michelin starred Chef Julien Royer, Stellar 1- Altitude, and Grain, in which he headed the Western Cuisine division.
Having opened successful restaurants prior to Cheeky, Chef Darwin’s most recent endeavor offers a unique dining experience, marrying comfort food with his culinary expertise for the masses to enjoy.
CHEEKY(麒记)
A lover of traditional Southeast Asian street food himself, Chef Darwin infused elements of high cuisine into his favourite street food creations, presenting them at affordable prices with their mains starting from $8.80.
Through creative use of carefully curated ingredients and masterful preparation with quality and consistency, Cheeky Bee Hoon was thus born.
ON THE MENU
- Signature Cheeky Beehoon – (must try!) It offers a multi-layered sensory experience with its hand-made beehoon resembling angel hair pasta, succulent pork slices, premium meatballs, minced pork, goji berries, and generous servings of fresh clams. What truly sets this dish apart is its flavourful pork bone broth infused with a white peppery kick that lingers with a satisfying aftertaste.
- Cheeky Beehoon (Dry) with Braised Pork – Featuring tender and juicy pork braised for 24 hours, the dish is served with crystal beehoon and the restaurant’s signature pork bone broth on the side. For spice lovers, don’t forget to add an extra punch with their house-made chilli.
Complementing their mouth-watering mains are a variety of delectable side dishes, including freshly made Charcoal You Tiao, Charcoal You Tiao with Otah filling, a serving of 24-hour Braised Pork Belly, irresistible Crab Dumplings with Soup, Fried Crab Dumplings, Mala Crispy Pork, and classic Stir-fried Cabbage.
THE PREMISES
Customers are transported back in time to a more vibrant era in Singapore due to the restaurant’s nostalgic environment. Pictures, certificates, and other items from the 1970s and 1980s are among the many vintage decorations on the walls.
Diners can also find unique relics such as a coin-operated telephone, which is also utilised as the restaurant’s actual phone.
With popular music from the 80’s being played in the background, the immersive environment truly captures the essence of the time.
