(Ahirureba Onsen Kanpai – S$5.90)
Personally, the mouth-watering onsen egg in the Ahrireba was most appealing to me. Just for an affordable price of $5.90, we were able to enjoy foie gras umami concoction. Served in a mini cocktail glass, toasting was definitely a regime.
(Refreshing Watermelon with Umami Kawaebi Sprinkles – S$5.90)
Dipping a slice of freshly cut watermelon into the Umami Kawaebi (River Shrimp) Sprinkles definitely whet our appetite.
The Menbaka Fire Ramen fire performance does not take place at your table; instead, you must proceed to the chairs near the cooking counter. Of course, this is for your protection because the fire is quite hot and oil may leak throughout the presentation. You are also not permitted to take photographs during the fire display, but don’t worry, the staff will set your phone on an inverted selfie stick and film the entire event for you! All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the fire display.
(228 Years Shoyu Ultimate Fire Ramen – S$19.90 )
The Menbaka Original – 226 Years Shoyu Recipe Fire Ramen is made from a 220-year old blend of Shoyu that’s imported from Japan. I really loved the broth as it was super umami and had a milky texture. The noodles were on the chewier side as well which is a perfect combination. For those that prefers to indulge in a smaller portion of noodles would have the option of choosing the lite bowl (17.90) with the same amount of ingredients just lesser noodles.
The premium salmon fillet was marinated with an authentic batayaki sauce and a combination of sake, kirin and shoyu. These ingredients were prepared right in front of you along with the theatrics of flames.
(Salmon Batayaki – S$58.90)
This salmon platter is best shared with a recommend serving size of 6. The salmon is completely boneless and tender therefore it’s definitely palatable . The marination and dipping of shoyu sauce goes hand in hand with the tenderness of the salmon fillet. This mouth-watering dish is a must try if you are a passionate salmon lover.
(Omakase Sumiyaki Skewer Set 10 pcs -S$33.00)
t’s not easy to find good yakitori in Singapore, but Menbaka Fire Ramen has done a nice job in filling that niche. The skewered stick offerings were a real treat for our palates and it was evident that the ingredients were freshly procured.
(Sakura Maki – S$9.90 & Swimming with Rainbow – S$8.90)
Following, what’s a Japanese food without sushi right? We had the opportunity to relish their original maki rolls, the Sakura maki which was coated with Sakura powder and a go to for those with sweet tooth. Swimming with rainbow ( the top of the picture ) is well displayed being topped with salmon, takuan, tai, avocado and tuna. The presentation of the makis was astonishing and the flavour boast a savoury kick. *(Do note that swimming with rainbow comes with just one roll )*
(Island Party Saba Fish – S$3.90) 4 pieces
From the breezing scent of the sea, crafting patterns of good omega fats those handmade drops of exactly mouthful sushi is like melting blended to your tongue. The rice was evenly coated with spice seasoning that would tickle the tastebuds.
(Seasonal Hana Mochi – S$3.00) 2 Pieces
We ended the experience with some traditional Japanese delicacy, Hana Mochi, hana which directly translate to flower in Japanese. The fillings of the mochi was red bean paste and had the ample amount of fragrance and sweetness. It was a great way to end such a delightful experience.
The experience was a delightful and memorable one where you will be able to indulge in heritage Japanese flavours.
