With a host of new items exclusive to Saboten’s new flagship outlet in Vivo City, look forward to their Katsu Ni Set, Nigiwai Katsu Set and Oysters Katsu which is a limited-time only seasonal item made from large size oysters specially flown in from Hiroshima.
Paired with 100% Uonuma Koshihikari rice that is imported from Japan, and freshly milled in Singapore, the rice is known for its subtle nutty fragrance and superior quality discernable by its bite.
All of Saboten Singapore’s cutlets are also braided with breadcrumbs freshly crumbled daily and completed with lashings of fresh cabbage that provide ample crunch and sweetness, served with Saboten signature sesame dressing and yuzu dressing.
At this Saboten flagship, try new items exclusive to Singapore like the Katsu Ni Sets, where pork or chicken katsu is served with a blanket of grated radish and soaked in Saboten’s special sauce. Available options include Tenderloin Oroshi ($30.50), Loin Oroshi ($26.50) or Chicken Oroshi ($22.50) which comes with rice, miso soup, chawanmushi, chilled cabbage, pickles and ice cream.
For the cheese lovers, try the Loin & Cheese Tenderloin ($28) Nigiwai Katsu Set, that is served on an air-dry rack to keep the katsu crisp. Made with gouda and cheddar cheese, the goey cheese has a nutty fragrance that pairs well with the tender meat. Other options include the Nigiwai Loin ($27.50) and Nigiwai Tenderloin ($30.50) for those who prefer certain cuts of meat.
Saboten customers will be glad to know that their rice, miso soup and cabbage are re-fillable so you would definitely not leave their restaurant hungry. We would recommend mixing up their roasted sesame and yuzu dressing for a sweet and tangy flavour that will whet and cleanse your palate for their seasonal specialty.
Available for limited time of one month only, Saboten offers a special Oysters Katsu Set ($38) that is made from large Hiroshima oysters. Plump, sweet oysters with meaty bodies and creamy centres are deep fried into golden nuggets that burst into little umami bombs in the mouth. Flown in from Hiroshima specially for Saboten Singapore, don’t miss this delicacy that will be difficult to find anywhere else!
