Every year, SUN with MOON refreshes their Grand Menu. This year’s Grand Menu was specially created by Executive Chef Mr Toshio Sawai, who has had career milestones such as working for 7 years in Kitcho, one of Japan’s most luxurious and reputable Japanese restaurants, and serving as the Executive Chief Chef at Restaurant Suntory in InterContinental.

The 2022 refresh focuses on expanding the Grand Menu selection, adding new items alongside existing old favourites. Here are some of the brand-new dishes available at SUN with MOON.

Kamameshi

One of the dishes that is basically synonymous with SUN with MOON, the 2022 Grand Menu brings two new Kamameshi dishes. The first is the Salmon Belly Teriyaki & Unagi Kamameshi ($30.80), an indulgent level-up from their classic Unagi Kamameshi that adds salmon belly and salmon roe into the mix.

The other is a Tori & Hotate Teriyaki Cheese Kamameshi ($27.80), which features tender grilled chicken thigh and scallops in sweet soy sauce topped with creamy white sauce and cheese.

Rolls

Enjoy sushi rolls whenever you head to Japanese restaurants? The brand-new Spicy Negi Toro Yellowtail Roll ($12.90 for 4pcs, $24.80 for 8pcs) features minced fatty tuna with spring onions, egg, cucumber and sriracha layered with marinated yellowtail sashimi and topped with fish roe.

The Teriyaki Salmon & Avocado Unagi Crunch Roll ($17.40 for 4pcs, $33.80 for 8pcs) presents a complementary mix of salmon, creamy avocado, and egg sushi roll topped with thick and luscious slices of grilled eel in sweet soy sauce contrasted with bites of crispy tempura batter bits.

Chirashi

The Toro Mori Chirashi ($33.80) is a classic done well—premium thick-cut sashimi slices of fatty tuna, salmon belly and yellowtail belly fanned out across a bed of Japanese sushi rice.

Yosenabe

SUN with MOON has added two new soup stocks for their Yosenabe ($24.80). You can now choose a mildly numb and spicy Sansho Miso Soup, or a rich and creamy Chicken Pai Tan.

Side Dishes

Aomori Apios Hokuhoku Age. Photo by SUN with MOON.

Have you tried apios before? These mini potato lookalikes have the taste and texture of groundnuts and are a superfood, full of protein, dietary fibre, iron and other nutrients. SUN with MOON’s Aomori Apios Hokuhoku Age ($7.80) uses apios cultivated in the Aomori Prefecture and serves them deep fried and simply tossed in salt.

Shiitake Garlic Butter Itame. Photo by SUN with MOON.

A perfect side to any meal, the Shiitake Garlic Butter Itame ($7.80) presents seasoned shiitake mushrooms pan-fried with fragrant garlic and butter.

Dessert

Strawberry & Chocolate Brownie Parfait. Photo by SUN with MOON.

The Strawberry & Chocolate Brownie Parfait ($12.80) is an absolute delight, featuring a decadent chocolate ice cream, rich brownie bites and a delicate crepe rusk. It also has layers of fresh strawberries, mochi balls and corn flakes, and whipped cream and chocolate syrup in between.
