It’s 2022, and while it’s been better than 2020 so far, it’s impossible to deny that you might be short on cash during this period, which is why I’ve compiled a list of free games you can play with friends.
These free online games are so accessible that you may play them right in your phone or laptop browser without having to download anything.
Valorant is a competitive online shooter that is similar to Counter-Strike. One squad is tasked with planting the explosive (the “spike”), while the other is tasked with defusing it. Valorant, on the other hand, adds a selection of MOBA-style heroes to the mix.
Bringing together many aspects from many genres, the game has become something new altogether. Sure, the game plays like CS:GO, but it’s evident after a few rounds that Valorant is on another level. It’s captivating, challenging, and, best of all, completely free to play. Unfortunately, it is only accessible for the PC at the moment.
If you have not played this game during lockdown, you would definitely have been missing out. In Skribbl.IO, players must guess the image while racing against the clock in this online sketching game. While drawing a perfect 10/10 can be difficult, anyone can try their hand at it and emerge as a Skiribbl.io champion. Create a private room and choose the number of rounds, drawing time, and game words. Send the invite link to your pals after you’re finished and your off to a great start!
You’ve definitely played Cards Against Humanity at least once in your life, but did you know there’s also an online version of the popular card game? It’s as simple as opening a tab in your browser and creating an online room for you and your friends; there’s no need to log in or download anything.
It has playing rooms that can accommodate up to 20 players, and its database contains cards from both the main game and the several expansion packs but do note that it may be a bit buggy at the moment. The chaotic party game is all about amusing one another with humorous, bizarre, dark, and occasionally inappropriate humour.
In Phantasy Star Online 2 you play as an ARKs operator, an elite force of combatants tasked with exploring perilous planets in search of the Falspawn, a dark corruption. To take on tasks, you can choose from a variety of unique classes, and after leveling up, you can designate another class as a sub-class to inherit specific skills. Although there is some paid content in Phantasy Star Online 2, you can enjoy the entire story for free which is worth it if you are tight on cash.
In Gartic Phone, a simple game about sketching and understanding what your pals have drawn, is like Skribbl.io meets Telestrations. Each player begins by providing a prompt that must be drawn by another player. The drawing is then passed on to another player, who must describe what they’re seeing, and still another player must draw their guess.
Depending on the number of players, this cycle continues. While the original mode is entertaining and chaotic on its own, you can spice things up with modes like Speed Run, which reduces sketching time, and Knock-Off, which requires you to duplicate a picture while the timer counts down.
Here are some fun games to play for free. It’s not always about buying the latest game; sometimes it’s about having fun with what’s available on the internet.
