Fun activities, amusements, and recreations abound in this planned township and rising tourism hotspot in west Singapore. Jurong offers it all, from amusement parks to adventure zones to wildlife and water sports, thus the list of things to do in Jurong East is fairly long and interesting here are some that you should visit when you are in the vicinity.

  • Jurong Hill Park

Many people come here for the panoramic views from the top of the hill, despite the fact that this park is still rather hidden in the Jurong neighbourhood. Begin your ascent from Jurong Bird Park (you can alternatively drive up) to the iconic lookout tower. A ‘garden of renown’ is located within the park and is named for the numerous trees planted by visiting foreign dignitaries.

Address: 60 Jurong Hill, Singapore 628926

  • SAFRA Jurong

SAFRA members should surely take advantage of SAFRA Jurong’s numerous amenities. You may also play tennis and football, or have a picnic with some friends, in addition to swimming. After a long day at work, relax at Fame Music & Entertainment, which offers darts and pool, as well as a variety of beverages.

Opening Hours: 9am – 9pm daily

  • JCube

JCube not only offers bargain seekers a Bugis Street-style shopping, but it also has a plethora of leisure activities that are ideal for a fun date or day out with friends. Skate around an Olympic-sized rink, see the latest movie in an IMAX theater, buy pottery at Taoz Ceramic Studio, or try to win an adorable plushie at Poka-oo or Whimsey arcade to beat the heat. There will definitely be something that excites you here.

Address: 2 Jurong East Central 1, Singapore 609731

Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm daily

  • Jurong Bird Park

Jurong Bird Park is an iconic attraction not only in Jurong East, but throughout Singapore. This bird park, which covers 200,000 square meters, is home to nearly 3500 birds. The sight of these feathery beauties, as well as the incredible displays and acrobatics put on by the birds, leave everyone in wonder. Bird displays such as Kings of the Skies and High Flyer Shows are stunning and completely engrossing, and are undoubtedly one of the greatest things to do in Jurong East during your holidays.

Opening Hours: Thur to Sun (8.30am – 6pm) | Closed on Mon to Wed

  • JEM

JEM is the city’s third largest suburban retail centre, rivaling the malls along Orchard Road. With its six stories, it includes a variety of stores ranging from fashion and cosmetics to technology and homeware. It now has Singapore’s largest Don Don Donki, with two entire levels of hot Japanese food, fresh produce, snacks, and lifestyle and beauty products. Furthermore, there’s no need to go anywhere else for last-minute shopping with stores like H&M, Uniqlo, Love Bonito, Muji, and even Fairprice Xtra within its premises.

Address: 50 Jurong Gateway Rd, Singapore 608549

Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm daily

Here are some suggestions for activities to do while visiting Jurong. Enjoy window shopping, eating, wandering, and simply taking in the sights. I recommend all the East-ies to visit the West once in a while to see what Jurong has to offer.
