Soak up the atmosphere and discover the charming new hidden gem in the West and immerse yourself in the rustic charm of Surrey Hills Grocer. As Singapore’s newest gourmet deli, lifestyle and restaurant, they are offering the best of Australian food, produce, cuisine and experiences to local consumers.
Ingeniously located in D`Arena, Surrey Hills Grocer is also Singapore’s first Australian grocery store to offer a direct-to-boot service for a convenient, contactless shopping experience. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the new grocer is located in a quieter area of Jurong that recreates the experience of driving to the entrance of an Australian farm.
Most Surrey Hills Grocer products are manufactured and grown in Australia, and are now being offered in Singapore. Notable exclusive brands include Rich Glen Olive Oil, a family company that creates food and skin care products based on olive oil; Stonebarn Truffle, Western Australia’s largest commercial truffle producer; and Koko Black, Australia’s iconic premium chocolate, which will debut in Singapore.
In addition, Surrey Hills Grocer also works closely with local urban farm, Straits Agriculture, to harvest fresh produce daily to be sold at its grocer, and to support its farm-to-table café concept.
Surrey Hill Café has an alfresco dining concept that pays tribute to authentic Australian brunch culture. Consumers can expect the quintessential dishes with a special touch such as the Crayfish Benny ($24) that sees marinated crayfish and poached eggs with crawfish reducer hollandaise sauce on baked english muffins.
Or take the common avocado toast to the next level with their Avo ($19) that has seasoned avocado puree with whipped ricotta and sourdough vegemite emulsion.
For something more hearty, the Steak Sandwich ($28) comes with Australian King Island Sirloin ¾ dressed with house mustard mayo, pepper and sea salt flakes.
Their seafood options are great as well with the Tasmanian Salmon ($26) where sashimi grade salmon is slow cooked and served on a bed of mushroom reduction barley grains, topped with marinated roe. Check out their full menu here!
Coffee can be considered one of the integral parts of Australian culture and the café doesn’t disappoint with drinks made from Proud Mary Coffee beans, Australia’s most famous coffee brand with a focus on sustainable sources.
Their classic Humbler blend—a rich caramel flavoured chocolate coffee pairs well with milk or plant-based alternatives—is expected to be a hit in Singapore. Prices will start at $4 for black coffee or get a pot of tea for $6.
The café also has a bakery that produces in-residence bakes and pastries daily plus they play host to Creamier for handcrafted ice creams (from $4.50) for a tantalising mix. The 38-seater, pet-pleasant café makes a splendid resting spot for households to refuel after a grocery trip.
