Looking for VR Games to play during the weekend? From fantasy to horror, here are some of my personal favourites and recommendation.
After sinking over 500 hours in Skyrim and Skyrim Remastered, Skyrim has become one of my favourite games of all time. After a long wait, The Elder Scroll 5: Skyrim (U.P SGD $79) has finally come to VR! Originally released in 2011, Skyrim has been converted into a VR title and there are countless of unofficial mod support as well!
If you’ve never played Skyrim, it’s a rich role-playing game that doesn’t limit you in any way. When levelling up, you will have access to a variety of skill trees into which you can spend skill points, and your stats improve dependent on what you do in the world.
Dubbed as one of the original FPS Shooters, Doom VFR (U.P SGD $21.72) is an exciting and incredibly fast-paced experience with thrilling moments of heroism against demons. Here, you will play as a cybernetic survivor who is activated to fight the demon invasion, maintain order, and prevent catastrophic failure at the Mars facility.
Though the controls might be a bit wonky at times, Doom VFR is still a very fun game to play and the novelty of being able to throw a grenade with your own hands never grows weary.
One of my favourite horror games to play with friends, Phasmophobia (U.P SGD $14) is a four-player co-op game in which you and your paranormal investigator team must enter haunted areas packed with paranormal activity in order to obtain as much paranormal evidence as possible.
From the safety of the truck, you may either support your crew by monitoring the place via CCTV cameras and motion sensors, or you can go inside and get your hands dirty with the ghostly activities.
Beat Saber (U.P SGD $26) is a VR rhythm game where you slash cubes as they float towards you in time to the music. Although the concept is pretty simple it can take awhile to master the game and beat higher levels. So what are you waiting for? Slash the beats of adrenaline-pumping music as they fly towards you, surrounded by a futuristic world.
Resident Evil 4 VR (U.P $39.99) brings back one of the best horror campaigns in recent history, albeit with a terrifying new viewpoint. Find your way through a rural European village, come face to face with challenging enemies, and uncover secrets and gameplay that have revolutionized the entire survival horror genre.
Before you purchase any of these VR games, always verify the compatibility information. Even the finest virtual reality games aren’t always available on all platforms so make sure you’re choosing a game that you’ll be able to play with your headset or device.
