Need a break and want to learn something new while at it? Come to The Rink at JCube and celebrate Christmas day with your family and friends! Singapore’s first Olympic-sized rink offers more than just a casual spin on the ice. Whether you’re a wobbly first-timer or advanced skater, they have lessons that will help everyone at any skill level.
If you’re a beginner like me or have young children, no worries. Rent an Aiding support such as the Penguin Aid ($11/2hrs), Snowman Aid ($11/2hrs) or the special Seal Aid ($15/2hrs) which children can ride on while being pushed. Some of us might think we are above aided help, but I can’t deny how cute the Aid looks and how much it made my visit so much more enjoyable than when I tried to do it without one.
Per ice skating session at The Rink is 2 hours long so one can have fun in the rink trying to learn the basics or just enjoying the rink and cool breeze. The price is rather affordable too where an adult pass costs $14 while children 12 and below is at $12. Of course, you would then have to rent ice skates for $4 unless you own a pair.
Lessons are also available for people to learn the proper way of skating or for the professional, take the advanced version to learn figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey.
Learn-to-Skate classes start from $171.20 and includes with 5 lessons over 30 minutes and 2 hours of practice after the lesson. This gives you plenty of time to practice the things you were taught. Of course, after the basics, there are advanced classes although it varies depending on your experience and passion as these classes will tackle figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey.
Overall, my experience was great, and you too should come attempt skating on the ice rink at least once in your life. With new year’s coming up, this is the perfect time for a new resolution. Instead of just watching people skate around, pluck up your courage and come visit The Rink at JCube today!
