It can be very depressing to know that we have not travelled out of Singapore for the past 2 years, especially for the holidays. If you have been dreaming of visiting Italy, we got you covered as we had the chance to ‘travel’ to Tuscan, Italy for lunch.
Located at Fusionopolis, Ristorante Pietrasanta has been offering authentic Tuscan flavors to local diners. The place has a laid-back feel and is also complemented with a breezy terrace where you can soak in the sun and feel the cool breeze as if you are at a beach in Tuscany.
For Christmas, they have specially curated a wonderful 4-course Festive Menu ($88+ per pax) which will include some of their shop’s specialty. Enjoy delicious dishes such as Polpo, Patate E Crema Di Ceci (Grill octopus leg, potatoes, chickpeas puree) as an appetizer, or get the Tagliolini Agli Scampi E Pomodori Freschi (Hand-made 40 egg yolks Tagliolini with scampi and fresh tomato) which is a pasta dish.
For the mains, the Involtino Di Pollo, Castagne, Spinaci, Uova E Salsa Di Lamponi (Slow cook chicken roll, chestnut, spinach, egg with raspberry sauce) is simply indulgent.
Although we did not taste their Christmas special 4-course meal, we had the chance to try some of their ala-carte dishes and the lunch was beyond amazing as well.
For Antipasti (known as the first course), we had their Burrata ($42.90) and Porchetta ($24.90). Their Burrata is specially delivered from Italy to Singapore and is not always available due to limited quantities imported.
Rich and creamy on its own, the Burrata is served with cold-pressed olive oil. When accompanied with some focaccia bread, it is just heavenly. For the meat lovers, bring it to the next level with some Porchetta or Parma Ham. If you intend to head down, we recommend calling in to reserve a piece of Burrata cheese as we assure you that it is to die for.
To go with a burrata of that revere, the Porchetta consists of a thinly-sliced roasted pork belly served with generous portions of rocket leaves. It is further sweetened with Italian tomatoes, shaved Parmigiano Reggiano, and a 15-year aged balsamico.
Moving on to the pastas, the Fettuccine Con Salsiccia Tartufo ($28.90) sees handmade fettucine pasta served with pork-ragout in a light cream base that is further bolded with sausages and minced Italian black truffle preserved in olive oil. The fragrance from the black truffle brings another depth to the dish that was really impressive and delighted our tastebuds.
New on the menu is the Fresche Gamberi E Pomodori Secchi ($28.90). Using fresh hand-kneaded tagliatelle, the pasta is cooked with fresh prawns, semi-dried tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil, and prawn broth that has a great umami flavour.
Imagine being served a 1kg grilled Angus Beef T-Bone Steak for dinner. The Bistecca Alla Fiorentina ($149.90) would definitely impress your companions. Cooked in Tuscany style medium to rare with only salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme, this dish is tender and served with no sauce for a full appreciation of its boldness.
If you can’t take beef, the Galletto Disossata Arrosto ($34.90) is a roasted organic spring chicken that has been deboned and garnished with garlic, herbs, and lemon zest for a juicy and finger licking good experience.
Lastly, for dessert, we had the Cheesecake Alle 5 Medaglie ($17.90). Creamy and milky with every bite, this is a good option for a sweet ending. You may think it is weird but take things up a notch and pair it with the Giussepe Giusti 20 years Aged Balsamico for a whole new experience on what you consider as dessert. You will not be disappointed.
Although Ristorante Pietrasanta can be on the pricier side, we would say that it is worth every cent of the price you paid for each dish. It would be perfect for you to spend your Christmas here as the ambience, great service and the well-designed interior is just the perfect combination. Head down to experience it for yourself first hand now!
