“Bello” Singapore! Minions lovers rejoice as a themed pop up cafe has opened in the heart of Clarke Quay and will be available from now till 2 Jan 2022 for diners to enjoy a themed food and beverages menu inspired by the movie characters.
Get your hands on exclusive merchandise at Minion Cafe located in the heart Clarke Quay and enjoy a series a cute and IG-worthy food and drinks for the gram. With a cosy interior and with their walls adorn with the lovable characters, you will definitely be spoilt for choice and snapping away on your phone when you enter.
To start, quench your thirst with a Minion Banana Drink (S$9) that is made with banana fruit slices and cornflakes. This is a drink that will make you go bananas over a banana milkshake. Customers who order a drink can also receive a limited edition coaster.
For those who prefer something a little more tropical, get the Yellow Bellow Pineapple (S$9) which is a mix of pineapple and lemon juice with pineapple compote, passion fruit, digestive biscuits, and whipped cream for a refreshing finish.
Moving into the appetizers, the Minion Pumpkin Mantou with Chilli Crab Meat Dip (S$15 for four buns) would definitely be too cute to eat as their adorable Minion faces stare back at you as you dip them into the accompanying sauce. Leaning on the sweet and tangy side, the sauce has a kick to it that goes well with the plain mantous. For those who prefer more umami, get the Minion Black Truffle Crab Meat Croquette ($14) to start.
With an assortment of mains to choose from, highlights and recommendations include the Minion Chicken Keema Curry ($25) that comes with turmeric-flavoured rice, sautéed portobello mushrooms, crispy lotus root, and banana chips (because Minions duh) that is creamy and has a light and spicy gravy.
Next up, for a little bit of everything, the Minion Waqyu Lunch Plate (S$28) features two cute Minion-looking rice balls with a black pepper-glazed Wagyu strip loin patty, fried ebi, sunny side up egg, steamed broccoli, cherry tomatoes, a mini chicken sausage with a side of creamy potato purée, and bananas. Do note that the wagyu patty however is served at a default doneness and is not customisable or you can swop it for a meat-free version.
You can never go wrong with a Minion Banana Boat ($18) which is a banana split ice cream filled with corn flakes, mango whipped cream, scoops of pink strawberry and blue cotton candy ice cream atop a bed of soft sponge cake or opt for the Minion Castella Cake ($18) for something a little more old-school.
