Learn Singapore History And Investigate The Raffles Mystery – Chinatown

Solve a fictitious crime set around 100 years after Raffles arrived in Singapore with an amazing race combined with an investigation in the beautiful area of Telok Ayer, Amoy Street and Ann Siang Hill all on your mobile phone.

The Plot

In 1922, Raffles unveiled his town plan that laid the foundation for Singapore’s development. The next day, he discovers that the town plan, Singapore’s more important historical document has been stolen. You are tasked with the investigation to retrieve this document and find the thief.

Armed with a journal on the list of suspects, search for informants that are scattered along the Telok Ayer area and prove your worth and show that you can be trusted. Collect clues along the way and build the profile of the culprit. Watch this video to find out more!

Based on historical context with a fictional scenario, you do not need prior knowledge on Singapore’s history to do it as all the answers can be found either by observation (they are “around”) or thinking.

Game Play

To start you on your journey, the investigation includes 2 steps:

  • Collecting Clues

Answer questions, solve puzzles and riddles and also take photos and videos to unlock clues in Chinatown. During this time, you would be visiting Thian Hock Keng Temple, Nagore Durgha and other important historical landmarks around Telok Ayer.

  • Analyzing Clues

Analyze the clues provided to find the culprit. The difficulty of culprit identification depends on the number of clues uncovered by each team thus look for as many clues as you can!

Logistics And Price

To play, you would need to download SingExperience’s proprietary app (for more details contact inquiry@singexperience.sg or call +65 9178 1234) and pay a fee of $25 per mobile device that is good for 2-3pax to share with no limit to the number of participants. With an estimated duration of 2 hours, start your journey at Telok Ayer Green between Telok Ayer and Amoy Street.

With a user-friendly mobile app that guides participants during the activity, this game allows the user the flexibility of choosing the time and day to start the activity within a 30day period after purchase. Do note however, that the activity requires entry into Thian Hock Keng Temple and Nagore Dargah thus it is best to keep within 10.00am to 5.30pm from Monday To Friday or 9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday.

With analytical skills, creativity and observation, solve the investigation and get to know more about Singapore history while having fun. This collaborative activity is sure to provide you and your friends or family with a great bonding experience not to be missed.
