When one thinks of white beehoon, most would think of White Restaurant. White Express at Tampines Mall on the other hand is a spinoff express concept by the same people who is known for their original Sembawang white beehoon.
Created to cater to a faster paced lifestyle, the restaurant aims to serve their food in a fast and easy format for both dine in and take away. This time round, White Express is introducing a series of new dishes that will be available for a limited time only!
With the success of their previous collaboration with Li Nanxing on his Hae Bee Hiam White Beehoon creation, specialty dishes has been created to meet the public’s demand for more hae bee hiam flavours and here’s the down low on the new dishes:
New Seasonal Offerings
Three dishes have been created with hae bee hiam that are great-tasting on their own or paired with the Original White Beehoon. The Hae Bee Hiam Ikan Bilis and Chicken Fried Rice ($8.90) has enough wok hei and flavour for those who loves a good fried rice.
Paired with crispy ikan bilis and cubes of chicken, there is plenty of textures going around that will leave you wanting more with each bite. This dish is only a tad spicy due to the hae bee hiam sauce incorporated into it but would have been better with a little more kick for those who love their chili padi.
Pair your fried rice with the Hae Bee Hiam Wok Fried Di Huang Miao ($5.90) that is just as good if not better than what you get at your local zi char stall. Albeit a tad oily, the hae bee hiam sauce is prominent and goes well with the fresh vegetables along with a scoop of fried rice or white beehoon.
Move over salted egg yolk chicken as I might have found my new favourite dish. The Hae Bee Hiam Crispy Fried Chicken (S$7.90) contains boneless crispy fried chicken strips with hae bee hiam sauce that is spicy enough without having to add on more chilli. This dish is packed with flavour and may be on the heavy side for those who prefer lighter meals. For those who like strong flavours, this dish would wow you with its crunchiness and kick with every bite.
These new dishes are available exclusively at White Express at Tampines Mall from 21 September 2021 to 2 January 2022, alongside with two new store-exclusive teas from Vivian Lai’s tea brand Teabrary.
The Teabrary Lychee Rose Oolong ($3) is more delicate with the lychee and oolong base taking the lead with a hint of rose while the Teabrary Strawberry Green Tea ($3) is a fruity concoction with strawberry and premium High Mountain green tea. After a heavy and oily meal, sips of these drinks will definitely quench your thirst and leave you refreshed and ready for the next sumptuous array of food.
