For most people, skin care is an important part of their routine. However, it can be difficult to keep up with all the latest skin care trends. To best take care of your skin, it’s important to find what works for you and stick with it. This is a guide for busy working adults or people who don’t have much time on their hands but would like to make sure that they are taking care of their skin.
Every woman knows the struggle of trying to manage her beauty routine while juggling work and life in general. Working a full-time job can leave little room for anything else–especially if you’re not the kind of person who can just get up at. So here are some quick tips to help you keep your skin in top condition!
1) Cleanse And Moisturize Your Skin Every Day
The skin is the body’s largest organ, and it works to keep us healthy. It releases protective oils, absorbs water, and retains salt – all to ensure that the natural balance of fluids in our body is maintained. That said, the skin on our face (where we spend a lot of time and work) is especially subject to environmental damage. Left unchecked, this can lead to irritation and breakouts which can take a toll on both our appearance and self-esteem.
Every day, we should cleanse out dirt or makeup from our faces with a good cleanser. Afterward, we should moisturize for protection against future damage caused by water evaporation or dry air (if it’s cold outside).
2) Drink Plenty Of Water To Keep Your Skin Hydrated And Refreshed.
H2O is more than just a chemical formula as it is a necessity for our body. This means that when we are not drinking enough water, our skin suffers because it lacks the hydration and moisture that it needs. Drinking enough water will give your skin a healthy glow and help keep it looking younger for longer.
Recent studies have shown that people who drink more than three liters of water per day, in addition to staying hydrated with other drinks such as tea, coffee or green tea, had healthier-looking skin than those who did not consume enough H2O.
3) Use A Face Mask Once A Week
Masks have been a staple in the beauty industry for a long time. It is because they offer a healthy skin by eliminating impurities and oiliness in our skin. While masks can be expensive, we recommend only using it once every week.
We talked to dermatologists to find out how often you should wear a face mask and found out that there is no set schedule for wearing masks. Thus, we would usually recommend that it be done on a when you need it basis, or once every week depending on the individual’s needs.
4) Wash Your Hands Frequently
Did you know, on average, a person touches their face around 20times an hour? thus it is important to keep your hands clean by washing them with soap every time they touch something, like your phone or the office doorknob, which could contain bacteria that you’ll transfer onto your face when you touch it later on.
The most common way for people to transfer bacteria is through their hands. Have an itchy nose or just popped a pimple? You might not realize that these bacteria are still on your hand and when you touch your face, they will be transferred onto it. One of the best ways for people to avoid transferring bacteria is by keeping their hands away from their faces.
5) Wear Sunscreen Regularly
The sun has a short but powerful effect on the skin, and that is why it is best to wear sunscreen regularly to shield yourself from the sun and reduce risk of getting wrinkles in the future.
Sun exposure damages skin cells in a number of ways, like breaking down the amount of collagen (a protein that provides structure to our skin) and elastin (a protein that helps our skin stretch), which can lead to wrinkles. When you’re exposed to UV rays from the sun, you may experience burning and potential sunburn. This creates an opportunity for photochemical reactions as ultraviolet light breaks down certain molecules in your body which can cause DNA mutations in the cells which leads to premature aging or cancerous mutations. So apply a layer on sunscreen protection whenever you can!
There is no foolproof or one miracle product that can help ensure good skin for anyone (at least none that we know of at the moment) thus basic skincare is important. With these tips, start your journey for a better skin in the long run today!
