Are you a fan of freshly baked goods such as cakes and pastries? I have always loved walking past bakeries to inhale the mouth-watering aroma of baked goods. My favourite would probably be anything that has to do with cinnamon, it smells amazing.
Tigerlily Patisserie offers a wide range of baked foods, from sweet to savoury. You can also get your hands on some of their cakes as they will be opening very soon in Katong on July 8th, 2021.
Tigerlily Patisserie was initially an online bakery offering customers with some of their best baked goods. It is recently announced that they will be opening their physical outlet at Katong with added menu items.
Executive Pastry Chef, Maxine Ngooi
The mastermind behind these goods is Executive Pastry Chef, Maxine Ngooi. Chef Maxine loved baking and would earnestly follow her mother around, intrigued by the sight and smell of her mother’s baking.
She went on to study in Australia and was inspired by the fresh produce, leading her to take up the art of baking. With no prior culinary education, she first put on her chef’s hat in Les Amis Restaurant under the mentorship of renowned pastry chef, Cheryl Koh.
Afterwards, she joined three Michelin-starred Joël Robuchon Restaurant and eventually joined Robuchon alumni, Vianney Massot’s restaurant as Head Pastry Chef. It was then when she created some of her iconic desserts such as the Beehive.
