As a lady, I am always conscious of my skin and the products I use. Skincare has always been an important aspect in my daily routine. I believe that the way to good and healthy skin is making the right choices. However, the things that might work for me may not work for another.
Before I started paying attention to my skin, I struggled with low self-esteem and was insecure of my face. I had tons of pimples and blemishes and what can I say, it is pretty normal especially when menstruation starts.
I started researching online for some of the products that can help improve my skin and met many setbacks along the way as most products seem to not have any effect.
After much trial and error, here is a list of products that I am currently using that seem to work pretty well for me!
Step 1: Cleanser
The first step to any skincare routine is definitely a cleanser. It is important to start with a clean face that will allow any product used to be absorbed into the skin. The cleanser that I use and am in love with is the Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser by Philosophy (480ml – $57.00).
I have been using this cleanser for a while now and I am always impressed by how clean and smooth my skin feels after using it. The product is suitable for any skin type, be it oily, dry or a combination of both. It helps tone, lightly hydrate the skin and also deep cleans my pores!
*Available at Sephora stores.
Step 2: First Serum
Afterwards, I would apply the Hyaluronic Acid by The Inkey List (30ml – $12.00). This product is meant to be applied before any other heavier moisturisers. Thus, I always use this right after cleansing. This product is also suitable for all skin types and its purpose is to hydrate and plump skin.
All I have to do is use a pea-sized amount of product all over my face and neck. The product will then be absorbed into my skin, resulting in hydrated and plump skin. This is best used during both morning and night skincare routine to achieve the best results.
*Available at Sephora stores.
Step 3: Niacinamide Acid
Similar to the Hyaluronic Acid, the Niacinamide Acid by The Ordinary (from $8.60) is best applied before other heavier creams and moisturiser. Made with a combination of Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1%, this product helps regulate sebum and minimise pores.
I have been using this product for a month now and have seen several visible improvements on my skin. Yet again, not everything I use may work for you but I highly recommend you give this product a try.
*Available at Hush SG
Step 4: Meeth
This next product is rather new to me and have only been using it for a week now. However, I do love how it works on my skin. The Ceraderma Essence ($165.00) from Meeth is an ultra-soothing serum for sensitive skin. It is made of 5 different ceramide types that delivers natural beauty.
The product also help with skin irritation and maximize skin moisture, perfect for my skin. I am definitely going to use this product for a few more weeks to see how it works.
*Available via official website.
Step 5: Moisturiser
After applying the serums, I would apply the Drink of H20 Hydrating Boost Moisturiser (from $24.00) by Tarte. The moisturiser is extremely lightweight (almost lotion like) and helps replenish and hydrate my skin.
I just started using this product a few weeks ago and am completely in love with it. My skin is definitely hydrated, and I will definitely get more of it once this container runs out!
*Available at Sephora stores.
Final Step: Treatment
The final step to my skincare routine is applying pimple treatment cream. I use the Purifying Mask (75ml – $52.95) by Caudalie to reduce the growth of any pimples. Yes, you heard it right, it is a facial mask, but it also works as a pimple treatment cream.
This cream helps reduce blemishes on the skin and I have used this for about two months now and have seen positive changes to my skin. My pimples will disappear after only two days applying it! Due to its dual function, this product is definitely worth the money.
