Meat has always been part of my diet. I do have friends who are vegan and sometimes, I do feel bad for bringing them out to eat as you do not see as many vegan restaurants in Singapore. Sometimes all they eat is fries.
My friends have always told me to try out vegan food. They explain how vegan food is made of plant-based ingredients and how it tastes like actual meat. At first, I did not believe them, like how is it possible that food made from plant-based ingredient could taste like meat?
However, I was curious to find out if it really does taste like meat. I have yet to get my hands on some vegan food, but I will definitely try them one day. Let’s look at some of the vegan restaurants here in Singapore.
8ash
8ash puts a meatless spin on our usual fast food menu items. It is part of the Ebb and Flow Group’s multi-concept space, serving a wide range of meat-free options. You can get a taste at some of their classics such as their Cheeseburger ($12.50) and their Mushroom Cheese Burger ($17).
Apart from that, you can also find night market favourites such as their Vegan ‘Ramli’ ($15). Similar to the ones available at every night market, it is made with an eggless frittata, garlic aioli, barbeque sauce, melted vegan cheese and their signature Impossible burger patty.
Treat yourself to some sides too such as their Cream Spinach Loaded Fries ($9), Prawn Cocktail ($10), Calamari Rings ($8) and more.
