Looking for clever ways to spruce up your home? Plants are a great way to add a pop of colour and life to your decor! You don’t need to have a green thumb or be an interior designer to successfully bring nature indoors—all you need is inspiration and the right plants to make the magic happen!

Here are some unique ways to add plants to your living space without simply placing a potted plant in the corner of a room.

Colourful Plants

Plants don’t just have to be green. Even if it doesn’t have flowers, leaves come in various shades of red, yellow, orange and purple. Some plants even have multiple colours and patterns on a single leaf!

Use these colourful plants to add an exciting touch, or break up the monotony of having only green plants in the room

Switch the Pots

Break the mould by replacing pots with different containers! Coordinate the items (yoghurt pots, glass bottles, cups) for a themed plant collection. You can even switch things up by adding more plants per pot—just make sure they can all grow in similar conditions.

Wall Plants

If you already have potted plants on your floor and table, you can try hanging plants instead for something different! Choose from hangers from the ceiling or even wall-mounted pots for a more creative display.

Living Paintings

Alternatively, ditch the pot altogether and use air plants! You can arrange them into a “living painting” artwork that’s sure to turn any surface into a feature wall.

Plant-Inspired

If living paintings are too eccentric for you, incorporating plant-inspired decor instead might be the subtle and classy solution for you. Adding vegetal elements instead of whole plants around your home can introduce themes of nature without being too forest-forward. Some ideas include individual branches or art pieces of plants.

Terrariums

A closed terrarium will add a little pocket of nature to any table or shelf If done correctly, a closed terrarium forms its own rain cycle and requires little to no maintenance, creating a unique indoor garden perfect for busy people with little time on their hands.

Be inspired by these plant decor ideas and head off on your latest home design rampage!
