Here are several folklore and haunted locations in Singapore! These locations are open to the public, but fair warning, you must do so at your own risk.

1) Amber Beacon Tower

Although Amber Beacon Tower at Parkland Green appears to be a normal tower, it is said that it is haunted by a female spirit at night. Her partner was stabbed in the back while the Spirit was stabbed in the neck. Although the boyfriend survived, the Spirit did not and was allegedly raped after being stabbed. There have been reports of people witnessing a white apparition standing atop the tower while calling for aid so visit with friends or alone if you dare.

Address: 920 East Coast Parkway, Singapore 449875

2) Bishan MRT

Bishan MRT was built on the site of an ex-burial ground that was built in 1870 and subsequently relocated in 1979. Claimed to be haunted by spirits, Bishan MRT’s tracks are also haunted by a headless phantom. Some claim to have seen it riding the MRT, therefore don’t try to travel with them because they may just take you somewhere strange rather than your original destination.

Address: 200 Bishan Road, Singapore 579827

3) Old Changi Hospital

One cannot miss out on mentioning the old Changi Hospital when talking about haunted places. The restless spirits that haunt this place were tortured to death or executed by the Japanese during WWII, as well as a security guard who used to work there.

During the Japanese occupation, it was built as part of a military complex that housed over 50,000 inmates. Crying and groaning sounds have been heard in the area, as well as terrifying sightings of dark figures and pontianaks. If you wish to explore the surrounding region, bear in mind that it is now a government property.

Address: 24 Halton Rd, Singapore 506997

4) Changi Beach

Before we knew it as a place for some fun in the sun, Changi Beach was used for torturing, mutilating, and killing both prisoners of war and civilian hostages during the Japanese Occupation.

The victims were hauled out to sea in batches and then flung overboard to be machine gunned in the ocean on one side of the beach, and off-shore on the other, immediately after the capture of Singapore. People claim to have heard screaming and spirits pleading their innocence, as well as witnessing a Japanese soldier executing a ghostly apparition.

Address: Nicoll Drive, Singapore 498991

5) Bedok Reservoir

Bedok Reservoir is infamous in the East for being a suicide hotspot with over a dozen bodies having been discovered there. Almost as if people are attracted to this location, people have reported witnessing apparitions ranging from female to male spirits hanging over the reservoir’s edge staring downwards at night.
