Whatever you call it – hotpot, steamboat, or mookata – we can’t get enough of this scorching hot pleasure that’s wonderful for a chilly, rainy day. Somehow, a warm and steaming pot of soup with ingredients never fails to satisfy.
The hot pot experience delivers an unrivalled sense of communion amongst friends and loved ones, from the flavourful broth to a vast selection of ingredients to a variety of side dishes and customisable sauces.
Think again if you think hotpot is supposed to be a communal meal experience. Fufu Pot is challenging our perceptions about hotpot dining. You only need one spoon to dominate them all here. Each set (from $9.90++) serves one person and comes with the ingredients that best complement the broth. If you think there isn’t enough food, you can always add on ala-carte dishes to your meal.
Choose from Stinky Tofu, Collagen, Mushroom, Tonkotsu Miso, Korean Stew, Sichuan Mala, White Curry, to Tomato! Do you suffer from any allergies? Simply inform the staff, and they will gladly make any necessary substitutions. The best thing is that you have the entire pot to yourself, with no annoying double-dippers or picky eaters to contend with.

Upin Hot Pot is perhaps one of the closest alternatives to one of the most well known for their service hotpot chains, with its huge range of ingredients and steamy broths. Granted, the meats may not be as premium, they’re adequate for the price.
Upin has seven broths available, including its signature tomato soup base ($12), mushroom ($12), and pork bone ($18). For the price of one, you can choose up to three types of your meal. Mushroom meatballs and crispy fish skin are two must-try dishes if you visit.

At LongQing Steamboat, there are only four types of soup to choose from: the trademark pork bone soup, mala, tomato, and wild mushroom ($18 for two options), so you won’t be overwhelmed. The soup base formulations here do not use MSG and are are boiled for long hours to suit both traditional Chinese and Singaporean tastes.
Daily deliveries of premium ingredients such as Mangalica pork collar ($30), US short rib ($22), and Canadian scallops ($12.80) are must try dishes, while their pork balls ($12) and prawn paste ($14) are prepared fresh every afternoon.

For less than $15, you can get a herbal chicken soup with fatty pig belly and hand-pulled noodles. It may seem too wonderful to be true, but Shi Li Fang has it all. A value set meal from $9.90++ is available at the Taiwanese steamboat restaurant and comes in a small individual serving pot if you dine alone.
Choose a soup base (the restaurant prides itself on not using MSG), the primary protein, and the sort of noodles you want. Then help yourself to a variety of veggies and sides, including cabbage, carrots, and bok choy, as well as tofu, black fungus, and mushrooms. It’s more than enough to cause a food coma after lunch, yet it’s not too expensive to break a hole in your wallet.

Shang Pin Hot Pot is known for its Sichuan spicy soup base, which is one of seven different types available. The soup is slow cooked for almost three hours and contains over 25 herbal components, as well as chilies and peppers.
Here diners can enjoy unique à la carte items including beef tongue, sea urchin balls, and bullfrog meat that aren’t available at other restaurants. If you’re searching for a place to eat at a good price with your friends, this is one of the places we recommend visiting.
