Let us talk food. Burgers, pizzas, pasta, the list goes on. As a food addict myself, I enjoy indulging in sweet and savoury dishes. As the new year kicks in, satisfy your tastebuds with several new halal cafes opening in Singapore, coming up with new flavours to meet the ever-changing preference of our locals. Let us take a deeper look into these new cafes.
The Bravery Cafe
Recently relocated to 50 Amoy Street, the Bravery Café offers a wide range of food items to choose from. From breakfast to desserts, they got it covered. Most of their menu items are dishes influenced by the western culture such as their NZ Baby Lamb Rack; perfectly cut lamb served with fresh pomme puree, roasted greens, topped with refreshing mint jelly.
In addition, diners can choose between several pasta dishes, namely, their Seafood Arrabbiata and Chilli Gamberi; aglio olio pasta served with fresh tiger prawns, with a slight heat from fresh cuts of the bird’s eye chilli.
At Bravery Café, baked goods are also available on site and for delivery. With a wide range of brownies and loafs, diners are sure to enjoy these sweet treats.

The White Label
Recently opened on December 24th, 2020, owners of The White Label café noticed the limited number of French fusion food in this little red dot. They have signature dishes such as their Squid Ink Spaghetti, strings of Italian spaghetti paired with their very own take on the ‘Sotong Masak Hitam’ sauce. Made with fresh squid ink packed with common spices, this dish is set to satisfy the tastebuds of their diners.
Another French fusion dish is their Smoked Duck Spaghetti which is a take on the local char siew duck and wanton mee. Talk about the mix of food culture here, this café is the next to visit.
After a hearty meal, I would definitely order something sweet and refreshing to cleanse the palate. Their Crème Brulee A L’Pandan is a local twist to the French dessert. It is made with a rich and tangy orange custard with sweet desiccated coconut and luscious honey and fig gelato. A perfect way to end the meal.

Friday: 11.30am – 11.00pm
Saturday: 9.30am – 11.00pm

Comme De Das
Since their journey as a solo business, Comme De Das stands by the idea of being a venue for people to bond over food without having to travel to the urban part of Singapore. Located at Jurong, this café offers dishes that combines different cultures together such as the Portuguese and other western influences.
Satisfy your tastebuds and give their Grilled Frango a try. With a combination of sweet and sour tomato herb rice, with an added rich white spinach sauce, topped with Portuguese-spiced chicken. Afterwards, indulge in their Berry Babe dessert. A blend of mixed berries, topped with a creamy and luscious custard, all packed in a delicious vanilla tartshell.
From appetisers to desserts, Comme De Das is a café to look out for, especially for our west side friends. With most of the halal cafes located at the central part of Singapore, Comme De Das is setting the bar for more halal cafes to venture out to other neighbourhood estates in the city.
Opening hours:
Tuesday to Sunday: 12.00pm – 10.00pm
Closed on Monday
Comme De Das: 2 Venture Dr, #01-40 Vision Exchange, Singapore 608526
